Graeme and Paula Robertson own The Cooks’ Base, a food business incubator, and have recently opened ‘The Cooks’ Base Store’ at Central Market Arcade to use as a platform to introduce consumers to new and local food businesses.
The husband and wife team have operated The Cooks’ Base for the past three years with a mission to ‘Help the food brands of tomorrow get started!’ Whether they are fledgling food businesses, in the early stages, or have been operating for a few years at home and looking to grow. The Cooks’ Base has helped in excess of 20 food businesses including another renewAdelaide project ‘The Beigelry’.
The Cooks’ Base Store in Central Market Arcade will give The Cooks’ Base clients the opportunity to showcase their products through tastings and cooking demonstrations, road test product ideas and interact with consumers in the Central Market precinct on a rotating schedule.
Graeme and Paula also have their own food brands, Turley Mae Sauces and Turley Mae Cakes, which will retail through The Cooks’ Base Store and be served as part of ‘High Tea @ Central Market’ by appointment. Outside of guest stall-holders, The Cooks’ Base Store will serve cakes, coffee and lunch with locally sourced ingredients to showcase retail products sold within the store.
