Renew Adelaide is proud to work with the team at WOTSO to bring back to life the old German Club bar. We are looking for a new bar operator to continue on its legacy and be part of the next chapter in this former famed institution. The building was recently purchased by WOTSO’s parent company BlackWall, and their ambition is to position the overall building as Adelaide’s next premier multi-use, co-working hub. As it was in yesteryear, the bar is set to be the heart and soul of the building.
The bar itself is fully functioning and ready to go, including plumbing, fridges, cool rooms and access to multiple toilets. Ideally, we will work with an experienced bar operator who will collaborate with the WOTSO team for input into the refurbishment of the common dining area. The German club itself also features a full commercial kitchen, and although we are not exclusively calling out on the kitchen, we are open to ideas for a cross collaboration of bar and shared partial use of the kitchen.
The German club is situated next door to the jam packed WOTSO space, with a good mix of other nearby office and residential buildings. The bar will be one of the first activations within the German Club and as a result, it will set the tone for the rest of the activation strategy of the building. With that in mind, there is the potential to negotiate an initial fixed term of up to 12 months under the Renew Adelaide program.
