The East End shopfront you’ve been waiting for.

Boutique exterior on Rundle Street from street view

Could your concept find its home in the heart of Rundle Street?

The space

This 85sqm (approx.) retail tenancy sits in the middle of Adelaide’s buzzing East End, surrounded by cafés, boutiques, creative businesses and the kind of foot traffic every new venture dreams of.

With an existing fit-out ready to make your own, you can spend less time sweating the small stuff and more time bringing your idea to life. The space features a full-height window frontage, high ceilings, timber floors, built-in racks, reception desk and two change rooms, giving fashion, lifestyle and retail concepts a running start.

Plus, there’s storage, a private kitchenette, air conditioning and shared amenities to keep things simple behind the scenes.

Available from 1 August 2026.

The location

At the centre of Adelaide’s East End, this stretch of Rundle Street is a magnet for independent retail, design-led brands, and hospitality venues. The East End’s packed calendar of events keeps the precinct buzzing throughout the year, from Illuminate Adelaide to Adelaide Fringe and Ebenezer Night Markets.

You’ll be in good company, with your neighbours including lifestyle favourites Assembly Label and Hommey, alongside beloved local institutions including Exchange Coffee, Jewels of Thought Records, Smokelovers and Geranium Shop set to pop up next door in the coming weeks. And the Exeter across the road doesn’t hurt either.

The East End has a track record of helping independent brands grow. Van Brussel is one example, which started with a shopfront on Ebenezer Place before expanding to international pop-ups in London and Melbourne.

Who you are

We’re on the hunt for a concept that complements the East End’s reputation as Adelaide’s home of independent retail, creativity and culture.

Fashion, accessories and homewares concepts would feel particularly at home here. Whether you’re launching a new label, expanding an online brand into a physical storefront, showcasing local makers, testing a new idea, or creating a retail experience with a strong community element, this space offers the opportunity to become part of one of Adelaide’s most established neighbourhoods.

We’re open to both longer-term tenants and short-term activations that bring energy to the East End.

Frequently asked questions

Q

How does the Renew Adelaide program work?

A

We partner with property owners and agents to offer rent-free spaces to emerging businesses, allowing them to test their concept in the Adelaide CBD. You can read more about our program on the how it works page.

Q

How long is the rent-free period?

A

This differs with each space but the minimum term is a 30-day rolling licence. This means the licence continues each month, up until you or the lessor chooses to end the licence, giving 30 days notice. In some cases, we can negotiate a fixed rent-free period with our property partner anywhere up to 12 months, depending on your concept and the property owner’s goals.

Q

What is the benefit of being on the Renew program?

A

In addition to the rent-free space, Renew Adelaide acts as a support system for new ventures and can help in areas you might not have experience in – whether it’s budgeting, marketing, visual merchandising or legal. Becoming a Renew Adelaide venture also provides you with greater exposure through our marketing channels.

Q

How do I apply for this space?

A

If you’re interested in this space, we recommend you come along to an inspection to ask any questions you might have. From there, you can submit an application form via our website. Visit how to apply for full details on the application process.

Q

Can I apply without an inspection?

A

We strongly encourage you to attend an inspection, however, if you’re unable to attend you can still apply. If you are successful in progressing to the next stage of the application process we can arrange a private inspection.

Q

I’ve missed the application deadline, can I still apply?

A
